From little things……..
Published 9 months, 2 weeks ago in My life.Outside my front door I have a planter box of Impatiens. I planted the seeds only weeks ago, and now I have flowers of many lovely colours. If we keep planting little seeds of Good News who knows what may blossom? Today’s good news is that this weekend I have very proudly watched my grandson Ben push himself to his limit in an attempt to achieve a sporting goal. He, and the other Judo exponents, boys and girls gave it all they had, to the point of shaking and tears and still they persevered. These young people not only competed against each other, but while doing so urged each other on and not to give up. Sportsmanship is alive and well!
A gold star for the youth of today - they are wonderful.

What a nice post. Doesn’t a garden give you a boost.
Life is like a garden along the path there will be weeds. You have to tend the flowers and pull the weeds.”
Ah yes, but a garden patch of flowers do not feed the masses. While lovely to look at and enjoy, work at the edible plants (productive rather than visually pleasing!) needs to have a balance within life. It is a lovely article and I have a visual image of you bending over tending your plants, much like the women in Murder she Wrote and Miss Marple. It is a good place to be if that is what satisfies your soul at the end of the day.
Now your grandson Ben is another matter entirely. grouchy old folk need to be given a day sitting down watching the youth of the day doing their stuff to compete and stretch themselves to their limit, regardless of the forum….it could be football, judo, chess or skateboarding. Whatever gets them active and focussed outside booze, drugs and damaging public property.
I am very glad Ben makes you proud
Sorry I am such a wet blanket…you enjoy your color! and most of all Ben’s victory over adversity to the point of exhaustion.
Glad you got the seeds to take, I have used up a whole packet of GiantPansie seed and got ONE plant. Same problem with a lot of seeds, and I know it is not my lack of a green thumb. I reckon there has been so much hybridisation that a lot of seeds are just not viable, maybe trying to force us to buy in the punnet instead of growing them ourselves. Anyone else had the same problem?
